Blueberry Matcha Latte (Vegan)



Matcha has become my go-to drink and it's loaded with benefits for your body so, what's not to love?


Matcha has been found to be:

  • High in antioxidants

  • It may help protect the liver

  • It has been found to help boost brain function

  • It may promote heart health

  • And more


Matcha tea is also very easy to prepare, which I love. So, I thought I'd combine this superfood drink with a superfood berry to make a delicious and healthy latte that's perfect whether enjoyed warm or cold.


This Vegan Blueberry Matcha Latte recipe is both refreshing and easy to make. The perfect morning drink or late afternoon pick-me-up that's naturally sweetened with blueberries and maple syrup.

Blueberry Matcha Latte


Ingredients:


1 cup of frozen blueberries, thawed

2 tsp good quality maple syrup

1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk

1/4 cup hot water

Ice (if served cold)


Method:


Allow frozen blueberries to thaw in a bowl and pour in maple syrup. Mash the blueberries and mix them together with the maple syrup well with a fork and set aside.

Add your Redespresso Green Tee Matcha Latte powder into a cup, then pour in your hot water and mix well until all your matcha powder is dissolved.


To a glass or cup, pour in your mashed blueberries. Add ice here if you prefer a cold beverage. Next slowly pour in your matcha and thereafter slowly pour in your milk (froth the milk a little if preferred for a creamier texture), on top to help preserve your layers.


When you are ready to serve, give your drink a gentle mix with your teaspoon or straw to help release a little bit of the sweetness through out your beverage, and enjoy immediately.
